Reference Photos:

High quality prints or digital images are preferred. Poor quality photos will make capturing all the little details of your special pet very difficult to reproduce. Well focused images are required. Candid photos are best to capture your pet’s unique personality, however if you preferred a more posed set up, that is perfectly fine.

Try to choose or take photos that are in good, bright light without heavy shadows obscuring your pet’s facial features. Flash photos are usually not as good due to the “red eye’ effect and the flash will also flatten out really good details and add undesirable highlights.

Several different photos of your pet are also helpful for me to get a better feel of your pet’s personality, coat coloring and any small markings that make your pet special.

I realize that sadly your pet may no longer be with us and I will try very hard to work with photos that may not be current due to having been taken long ago. Please understand that if the photo is simply not good enough to do a fair representation of your pet, I will have to decline.

Digital images should be at least 180 dpi or larger.

If the images you have are taken by a professional photographer, please be sure to get permission of use from the photographer as it is their intellectual property even if it is your pet

Payment Policy:

Portraits require half payment up front, which is non-refundable should you decide to cancel for whatever reason once the painting process has begun. Payment can be made by cash, check or credit card via PayPal. A refund of your deposit will be returned should you cancel before the portrait has begun, due to having held your portrait place should there be a wait list.

I guarantee your satisfaction with my work quality and the likeness of your pet. If you do have a problem with the portrait, I will do everything I can within reason to make sure you are happy and any issues are resolved.

Your portrait deposit guarantees you a reserve space in my line up. Portraits can take up to 6 to 8 weeks to complete and you will be kept updated via email as soon as your painting is about to begin. Regular email updates will be sent out to keep you informed as to progress and completion date expectation. Understand that there may be a wait list and you will be placed on that list in the order I receive your deposit.

Upon completion, I will invoice you for the balance owed, plus the cost of shipping and handling.

All of the materials used to create your special portrait are museum quality and archival. Their light fast, non-fading properties are guaranteed for 100 + years with proper protection from direct light.

I will include a printed insert with each shipped portrait, to explain how to have your piece matted and framed and guidelines for hanging.

Once your full payment has been received, your very precious painting will be securely packaged and shipped via USPS, insured with delivery confirmation.
